![]() I also updated the flash BIOS for the video card at same time. Now after driver updates for my Hercules Nvidia GeForce3 Ti500 64MB using the manufacturer's driver from Nvidia rather from Hercules and re-installation of FS9 fortunately it's all up and running with one major problem. Think I must be the first to actually uninstall FS2004 but that seemed only option to clear up the mess and identify what was causing the problems. I assume that FaceTrackNoIR works in effectively the same way as TrackIR (apart from the infrared input), so I cannot see any reason why it shouldn't be possible to combine the two programs.Has anybody tried this and had a successful result? Does anybody have any tips about how to resolve the problem? Thanks for your help.Initial setting up of recently arrived FS2004 ACOF (now I know what FS9 is all about!!) I had installed Active Camera (registered version)and was faced with the dreaded XP (Home Edition) BLUE SCREEN - stop! every time I shut down FS2004 from full screen mode only?. That is not at all true, you do have to turn off the head latency effect in Active Camera (RealView if you are using that) for TrackIR to work correctly but all the other wonderful features of Active Camera work without a hitch and Active Camera’s ability to smoothly move from one position in the airplane to another gives a nice effect for moving about a larger cockpit."I have turned off head latency in Active Camera, but this doesn't solve the problem either. I have tried deactivating the ActiveCamera2004.dll file to stop Active Camera running, but that didn't solve the problem either. So I have searched for any conflicts between Active Camera and TrackIR and came up with the following: a review of TrackIR on Avsim ( ) states:"One of the reasons I hadn’t looked more into getting TrackIR sooner, was some forum threads that had titles stating how TrackIR and Active Camera didn’t work together. He was however able to solve the problem by running FS in Vista SP2 compatibility mode. My system runs Windows 7 64 bit, and the creator of the software had the same problem as me when he tried to run FS on his similar system. I have been asking for help on FaceTrackNoIR's own forum (I wish the program had a simpler name!), and they seem to be suggesting that there is a conflict between this and Active Camera. If I run it on its own the tracking works fine, but as soon as I start up FS the tracking grinds to a halt. And then I discovered the free FaceTrackNoIR which simply uses a webcam to track your face.I have installed the program (version 1.60), but simply cannot get it to work in tandem with FS. I have now discovered TrackIR, but decided that this was simply much too expensive. I have been using Active Camera successfully with FS9.1 (plus no-CD patch) for some time. ![]()
